[Written for the Sentinel]

"Blessed are they that mourn"

Come close to God and feel His power,
O saddened one—within this hour
Love comforts thee.

The love of God is bright and clear,
Above the mist;
And darkest clouds that seem so near,
The sun has kissed.

Love's light is shining still for thee;
God's power and presence cover thee;
And thou art blest.
Use wisely this most precious hour,
Claim gladly God's almighty power,
And so find rest.
