Signs of the Times

[Dr. James Harold More, as quoted in the Los Angeles Times, California]

In the conquest of fear there are, of course, many obvious steps. One is to remember that worry is waste, because life is always developing in unexpected ways, thrusting new elements into the situation which completely change the outlook. But above all we need to accept Jesus' interpretation of life—Be not anxious for the morrow, "sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Jesus does not call us to the untroubled life, but to the untroubled heart. He bids us to go through life with an inner peace and quiet, looking confidently for the direct and sustaining help from a God who cares.
