So many wonderful and beautiful proofs of healing through Christian Science have come to my home and into my life since my first healing, twenty-three years ago, that I sometimes stand in awe before them all. My own healing was almost unbelievable, as I had been a semi-invalid for a long time, suffering from spinal and stomach trouble, also from a nervous trouble that prevented my walking. I had the care of the best doctors of the city; but though everything was done for me, there was no relief, and the condition kept getting worse. I was sent away from home to be closely watched by a physician, who could thus thoroughly study the case and give me special treatments. At the end of five months I was brought home utterly helpless. Three specialists were called in, but they seemed to be in the dark. Finally, the last one decided to take me to a hospital. I was operated on, and this physician was sure I would be able to take nourishment and to walk. At the end of five weeks I was worse than ever; and as all sorts of experiments had been tried, I begged to be taken home. I remained in bed under the care of a stomach specialist, who tried everything of which he could think; and I again took osteopathic treatment for two months. Ultimately, this specialist thought I had better be taken to a hospital where some new treatments could be tried which, he felt sure, would at least help, if not heal. I was away for three months, getting weaker and weaker all the time; so at last they decided to let me come home. The stomach specialist seemed unwilling to give up the case and asked the last surgeon to come to see me. His verdict was that it was too late to operate. In a day or two he sent word through the stomach specialist for me to try Christian Science and see what that would do for me, as he had seen some wonderful healings through it. A practitioner was called, and I was healed. The specialist had said, "I have taken great interest in you, and I will not give up even though you have this treatment." In a visit made soon after Christian Science treatment was begun, he was told I could take nourishment; so he said, "Let me see you drink a glass of milk." After seeing the proof he left the house and did not visit me again.

It is with deep gratitude that I give this testimony to help others find the way to Truth and Love. My earnest desire is to follow our Master's example and his commandments.
