I wish to express through the periodicals my gratitude for Christian Science. I turned to it about thirteen and a half years ago to overcome a great sense of grief, and found through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy the God who is an ever present help in time of trouble. In the fall of 1918 I had a severe attack of influenza, and was having help from a practitioner. One night I awakened with the feeling that the claim of death was trying to assert itself. I worked, declaring that God was able to meet the need. Soon I was able to speak, and asked my husband to go to a telephone and call the practitioner; but as the telephone was not in our house he was afraid I could not live until his return, and so would not leave me. I applied what I knew of the truth, and soon my appearance became natural. I do not recall when a hemorrhage of the nose and mouth, which had come upon me, ceased. When morning came the practitioner was called. I arose and helped with my two babies and the breakfast work, but treatment was continued for a few days. The after effects seemed to disappear slowly, but after a few weeks I had complete control of my limbs and became normal in every way. This is just one of the many demonstrations I have had.

I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science, for all the Scientists who have helped me on my way, and for class instruction in Christian Science.
