Christian Science found me seeking material gain, and very indifferent toward religion. For several years I scarcely opened my Bible, although I had been a member of an orthodox church since the age of twelve. Needless to say, the Bible soon became my daily companion. How I rejoiced when the spiritual meaning of several verses of Scripture began to unfold! For over six years I have depended on Christian Science to meet my every need, and many indeed have been my physical healings and material blessings. But they are not to be compared with even one glimpse of the riches of the understanding that God is Life, Truth, Love! I have been healed in Christian Science of nearsightedness and weak eyes, indigestion, gallstones, colds, burns, and many other discordant conditions.

Once, shortly after retiring, I was seized with a severe pain in one side; and it seemed as if I could not move, so great was the discomfort. I asked my husband to read to me. After reading for a while he came to this verse: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." Immediately the light dawned upon my waiting thought, and I was instantly freed from all pain. After such experiences as these, is it any wonder we glorify God, and love and revere our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for showing us so clearly how to follow the teachings of our Master, Christ Jesus?

I am indeed grateful for all of Mrs. Eddy's published writings, for our Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, and for the Christian Science periodicals. These certainly do contain the truth to guide one into the light of spiritual understanding, keeping him in the narrow path of Life.
