It is with great joy and gratitude that I take this opportunity...

It is with great joy and gratitude that I take this opportunity of testifying to the many benefits I have received through the study of Christian Science. I first heard of this Science when I was living in Worthing, on the south coast of England. It was brought to my notice by a friend who had begun to study just a short time before, and her joyousness and trustfulness impressed me so much that I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Physical healing was not in my thought when I first began to study, as I was seeking for a religion that would satisfy; but I was healed of many things just through the reading of this textbook. Nasal catarrh, rheumatism, bilious attacks, severe headaches, acute constipation, and intense weariness all yielded to this wonderful truth.

For twenty-two years I had worn glasses, having been told by an oculist that I should never be able to leave them off, as the consequences would be serious if I did. When I realized what Christian Science had already done for me I felt I should very much like to make the demonstration, so I declared and tried to realize all the truth I knew about the situation; and in a few weeks I mentally asked the question how I should know when to leave off my glasses. The next week I read in a Sentinel the testimony of a lady who had made a similar demonstration. She had help from a practitioner, and when she asked how she should know when to leave off her glasses she was told that when she was ready Love would show her. Shortly afterwards, when out walking, her glasses fell at her feet and were badly broken, and she found then that her demonstration was made. I worked on as best I knew how; and one morning shortly after reading this testimony, when I was putting on my glasses, they snapped. I felt annoyed, but it never occurred to me then that the demonstration had been made; so I got out a new pair of glasses, which I had never worn, and put them on. Three mornings later, the very same thing happened to the new glasses. I went downstairs, and in a short time was convinced that my demonstration was complete. About four months after this, in order to convince relatives who were opposed to Christian Science and who were very much annoyed and alarmed that I had left off my glasses, I had my eyes examined by an optician, and he assured me that I did not require glasses. Since that time my eyes have been put to very severe tests, as I have used them strenuously at times, but never have I felt the slightest inconvenience; and I am indeed truly grateful.—(Miss) Jane Miskelly, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
