Christian Science is not a faith cure, in the commonly accepted sense of the term, as some people think it is. This was proved in the case of my own healing. Many doctors examined me, and did all they possibly could to help me. They said that the optic nerves and the auditory nerves were entirely destroyed, and that there was no hope of recovery of sight and hearing under these conditions. When I came into Christian Science, I was thoroughly convinced that I would spend the rest of my life in darkness and silence. About five years ago, after taking up the study of Christian Science and with the loving help of a practitioner, I was completely and permanently healed of total blindness and total deafness.
