Christian Science has given me an understanding of the Bible, and I am learning how I may praise the Lord in thought and deed. For this I am very grateful. It has lifted me out of the darkness of fear, envy, hate, and many other sinful beliefs, healing many discordant bodily conditions.

When I first turned to Christian Science for healing, my physician at that time told me I would have to undergo an operation or I would never be able to eat without suffering. He called the trouble chronic appendicitis. I did not believe an operation would help me, because I knew one who had gone through this operation and had not been helped by it. A friend spoke to me about trying Christian Science; and as it seemed to me to be the only thing for me to do, I went to see a practitioner. The pain was gone from my side when I left his office that first day, and I was completely healed in four days. Since then, some fifteen years ago, Christian Science has been my only help and comfort in every difficulty that has presented itself.—(Mrs.) Julia Ata Daugherty, Seattle, Washington.
