When I took up the wonderful teaching of Christian Science in 1919 I had not known what good health was for about ten years, and from July, 1915, until March, 1919, I was continuously under medical treatment. Beginning with an ulcerated stomach, one disease after another manifested itself, such as a nervous complaint, pleurisy, bowel trouble, inflammation of the kidneys, tuberculosis, ulcers on the lungs, and hemorrhages. My tongue was so torn that according to material evidence it was held together only by the tendons. One of my husband's coworkers, who had been healed in Christian Science of verdigris poisoning, called our attention to this teaching; but we did not take it up until the doctor had told my husband my recovery was impossible, and even if the most favorable and fortunate conditions prevailed my life would be extinguished in four months.

Through the untiring help of a practitioner we were gradually lifted out of error, and the "still small voice" of Truth aroused a joyousness in me which was the beginning of my permanent healing. I thank our Father-Mother God not alone for the physical healing, but also for the divine Love which always surrounds us.

With great reverence I think of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who by her pioneer work has shown all mankind the way to divine Love and Truth. I am grateful for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as well as for all the other literature which makes it possible for us to learn more and more of this wonderful teaching, and I think with love of all those who have helped me to gain a better understanding of Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Louise Tümmler, Hamburg, Germany.
