I am immeasurably grateful that I studied Christian Science while Mrs. Eddy was still with us. I count as my dearest possession the memories I have of seeing something from her pen in the periodicals at intervals, and to have been conscious of the tender love by which she watched over the growth of her Cause, so alert, so constant, and so wise.

I am grateful also for the memory of and the record in the older Journals of the response of the world to that love, in the letters of gratitude and joy that poured forth to her constantly. My own heart was fed, educated, and enriched by them often, and echoed their happiness, although I never wrote to her.

I began the study of Christian Science in 1904, and was healed of many false habits and sicknesses; among them the need of wearing glasses, of scarlet fever, bilious attacks, overearing, effects of poison ivy, colds, rheumatism, and of many limitations and fears. I thank God "for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men." I thank God for Mrs. Eddy's faithfulness and love; for the privilege of class instruction and study, and for church work.
