When our daughter was about three years of age we noticed that she was getting very deaf. A doctor was called in, and on examining her discovered that the obstruction in the ears was caused through something which resembled small bits of paper, very likely forced in by her or some other little child. The doctor was able to remove part of these, but the remainder, we were told, had gone too far in, and were beyond the reach of any surgical instrument. As time went on she became worse, and at about sixteen years of age she became completely deaf in both ears. A specialist was consulted, and he with a second doctor operated on one ear. Some of the obstruction was taken away, but we were told by the specialist that the eardrum was perforated. Following the operation her hearing appeared to be better, but about six months later she became quite deaf again.

In the meantime we became interested in Christian Science; so our daughter asked a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given; and within a fortnight her hearing was restored to normal. That was twelve years ago, and there has not been any return of deafness.

I am indeed grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her years of patient work in giving the understanding of the truth which makes free.—
