Several years ago, while attending a lecture on Christian Science...
Several years ago, while attending a lecture on Christian Science in a near-by town, I was healed of a difficulty of two months' standing. I had been attacked with severe aches and pains in the hip, sometimes so severe that I would be unable to stand up. Each time I would do my own Science work; but I was unable to conquer the pain completely, so gained only temporary relief. On entering the hall on this occasion I was aware of the pain: it seemed worse than at any other time. During the lecture I became so engrossed with the speakers's explanation of the spiritual nature of man that I was entirely unaware of the body. On leaving the hall I realized that the pain had gone. I felt so free I knew I was healed, and I have not had a return of the difficulty.
Many times since have the words of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, come to me with a clearer understanding than before. She says in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 14), "Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth." I am grateful for the physical healing, but more grateful for the spiritual uplifting Christian Science has brought. I am also grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, whose untiring efforts gave this wonderful truth to all mankind.—
(Mrs.) Nettie Lorraine McNamara, Stockton, California.
