When
the argument of hard times or lack confronts the Christian Scientist, he begins to realize the utter falsity of the argument by turning to the contemplation of spiritual fact, fact which reveals God as the ever present source of abundance, and man as continually surrounded by and living in the fullness of God's protection, love, and goodness.
In
carefully considering Christian Science treatment and comparing it with the manner in which Jesus overcame all forms of evil and disease, we find that our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has discovered and revealed, for the practical use of every earnest seeker, the same Christly methods as were used by the Master.
Throughout
her writings our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, many times emphasizes the need for all those who wish to demonstrate the rules of Christian Science healing to read, study, and ponder the Word of God, as found in the Bible and her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," as well as in all her other writings.
It
is recorded in John's Gospel that when Jesus was told that his friend Lazarus was sick, he replied, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
Ralph B. Textor, Committee on Publication for the State of Ohio,
The correspondent whose letter appeared in a recent issue of your paper, headed "Methods of Healing," showed a pronounced ignorance of Christian Science when he designated it as a "mind cure," and grouped it with faith-cures at shrines, and with hypnotism and spiritism or spiritualism.
Fred Yould, Committee on Publication for the State of Georgia,
There have recently appeared in the Constitution several references to a speaker now appearing at the Baptist Tabernacle Bible conference here, and to his past connection with Christian Science.
In
the days immediately following the taking over by Joshua of the leadership of the children of Israel, then in full view of the promised land which they had so long sought, the successor to Moses received direct messages from God which comforted and heartened him for the great work ahead.
How dear to every human heart is success! How men love the least thought of it! How earnestly they work for it, struggle for it, pray for it! The desire for it enters into the child's earliest experiences, and goes on increasingly through his later years.
Testimonies of healings brought about at authorized lectures on Christian Science will be published in The Christian Science Journal or the Christian Science Sentinel, when verified as are other testimonies appearing in the periodicals.
In loving gratitude for all the joy and health which Christian Science has brought into my life, I wish to testify to the first healing I experienced in Christian Science.
For some time before coming into Christian Science I had made several attempts to give up smoking, but without success; so, on the very day that I took up the study of Christian Science, I thought I would put its healing power to the test by using it.
When I look back through the years I can see that my life was made up of anxious and worried thoughts, which were manifested in all sorts of discord and inharmony.
When first Christian Science was brought to my notice, through letters on the subject in one of the English daily newspapers, I was suffering from nervous exhaustion.
I am grateful for the healing message of love which came to me in the year 1908 through the seemingly accidental reading of our daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor.
How different life would be if we said softly to ourselves as each morning dawns: "This is the day which the Lord hath made!" How changed would seem its duties and privileges, its opportunities and gifts, its possibilities and demands! Home and business, work and pleasure, would all be bright with the glory of His presence.
