It seems difficult to find adequate words in which to tell of all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me. When it was brought to my notice I had been a semi-invalid for years. According to medical diagnosis I was suffering from two organic troubles and many minor ones; and I seemed obliged to spend most of my time lying down, as the pain was more bearable in that position. Although I protested to the one who first lent me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that I was much too ill to be helped by reading a book, I accepted it because the second part of the title, namely, "Key to the Scriptures," appealed to me, as I had a great love for the Bible and a great longing to understand it better.

At first I felt that I hardly grasped any of the statements in the textbook, but I seemed impelled to go on and read for many hours a day; and gradually a wonderful sense of peace and love came to me, and more charity, forgiveness, and consideration toward others. This was the real healing; and it is still going on, bringing me better physical health and more harmony. I have been enabled to resume a normal, active life and again to enjoy the pleasures of gardening, bicycling, motoring, and traveling, all of which had for so long seemed impossible. I am learning that in Science there is no such word as "impossible"; for does not our beloved Leader tell us in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 183), "Whatever is possible to God, is possible to man as God's reflection"?

For all the loving, patient help received from others; for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; for all our Leader's writings, and for our periodicals; for the great privilege of working in the field, part of which entailed a helpful and inspiring visit to headquarters in Boston, I am deeply grateful; but above all for the certainty that this revelation of God and His Christ is bringing the kingdom of heaven to the whole world as it is ready to receive it in the spirit of a little child. My thankfulness goes out daily to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader.—(Miss) Frances Baines, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.
