I did not become interested in Christian Science for...
I did not become interested in Christian Science for physical healing, but in a time of great mental stress. A friend who observed the effect this mental strain was having on me advised me to try Christian Science. The next day I attended a Christian Science service in a church in London, where I saw these words from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 494): "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." On saying these words over and over again I realized that they were true, and the next day wrote to a practitioner. Help was at once most lovingly given. Within a few days all fear and anxiety had left me, and conditions from that time improved.
Through the help of Christian Science I have been healed of severe chilblains of many years' standing; and my children have been healed of measles in one day, of a broken ligament in three days, and of all the symptoms of appendicitis. They have to travel some distance to school, and I am so grateful to be able to know that wherever they are, there they have God with them. But besides all this, I am more grateful than I can say for the help that Christian Science is to me in the little things of everyday life. I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful life-work, and to those who have helped me so lovingly to gain a clearer understanding of God's great love.—(Mrs.) Edith A. Thomas, Harrow, Middlesex, England.
I wish to corroborate the above testimony of my wife and to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me. I have been healed of influenza, toothache, and a skin trouble which was very disfiguring. The latter healing was slow; but I am now grateful for this, as it was the means of my learning more of the truth as taught in Christian Science.
