Fortunately, the fame of Mary Baker Eddy as "an expounder of scientific truth" rests upon a more substantial basis than one produced by the films, notwithstanding the intimation to the contrary made by a churchman of a western state and quoted in a recent issue. Mrs. Eddy is well and favorably known as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the author of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Through Christian Science, which is based solely on the Bible and on the words and works of Christ Jesus, she has brought untold happiness to millions of persons throughout the world in healing sickness, overcoming sin, and casting out evil, even as the Master commanded. Thus the scientific truth of her teachings has been irrefutably proved. It was the Master who said, "Wherefore by their fruits shall ye know them." On page 341 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"Mrs. Eddy writes as follows: "Sneers at the application of the word Science to Christianity cannot prevent that from being scientific which is based on divine Principle, demonstrated according to a divine given rule, and subjected to proof."
