Christian Science came into our home several years ago when every material hope was gone. It seemed that financially, physically, and mentally our little family had reached its extremity. Discouragement, sorrow, worry, and fear seemed to rule. At this time, in the darkest hour, the truth dawned in our consciousness; and it has been an ever increasing light from that day to this. From the day we turned to Christian Science it has met our every need most satisfactorily. We have had many opportunities to prove the healing power of Christian Science, for in our own home we have witnessed an instantaneous healing of sprained ankle and the complete healing of pneumonia in two instances; and measles, mumps, chicken pox, inflammation of the eyes, and many other discordant conditions have quickly dissolved into their nothingness.

I wish to give especially the healing of our little girl from infantile paralysis. She went through this experience clinging to the truth. She did not stay in bed a single day; but when the acute times would come she would say, "More Truth, mother; more Truth." Sometimes we read for three hours at a time from the Bible and from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At the end of this acute illness she was left with a paralyzed leg. One evening a friend who is a physician was visiting us, and I asked him what was the cause of this useless leg, thinking perhaps it was a dislocation. He made an examination and pronounced it paralyzed. More work was immediately taken up in Christian Science, and the leg was restored to a perfectly normal condition within one week. Two weeks later this same physician acknowledged that he could not even tell which leg had been affected.

In the Bible we are told that Mary Magdalene came "when it was yet dark" to look for the Christ. When she could not find him in the sepulcher, she stood outside and wept. She then heard his voice saying "Mary" and "turned herself" and beheld him. She was then told to go before him and tell what she had seen. Need I say that I am grateful that another Mary came while it was yet dark and that what she perceived she gave to us in Science and Health, the message of the living Christ? This living, loving Christ, Truth, annulled the cheating claims of evil when they would have robbed our little child of health and wholeness.
