By way of commenting upon a reference to a book entitled, "The Bible and Christian Science," which reference appeared in your issue of recent date, please permit me to say that, contrary to the views expressed by the writer of the book, the teachings of Christian Science are based directly upon the Scriptural writings, and especially upon their spiritual interpretation, as revealed through the words and works of Christ Jesus. Competent evidence in support of this statement is to be found in the fact that adherents of this religion are to-day healing both sickness and sin in the way pointed out by the Master. I may also add that had the gentleman stated that the teachings of the Christian Science religion were contrary to his concept of the Scriptural teachings, rather than to the Scriptural teachings themselves, he would have been somewhat more correct.
