It is quite evident that God must seem to the critic...

It is quite evident that God must seem to the critic writing in your issue of recent date to be a corporeal being, finite, material, and therefore temporal. His standard of being seems to be mortal, and he is, therefore, reasoning about God from this standpoint. Christian Science reasons from exactly the opposite standpoint, namely, the infinite, incorporeal, immortal, and spiritual. One must acknowledge that God is infinite, eternal, immortal Mind. From this it follows that the thoughts of God must be infinite, eternal, and immortal. Divine Mind has no connection with the so-called human or carnal mind, which Paul termed "enmity against God." The words of the prophet Isaiah revealed this when he was inspired to write: "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." The Bible declares God to be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. The only possible way of comprehending God as omnipresent is as infinite Mind. Mrs. Eddy states this very clearly on page 468 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," where she says: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Has our critic ever considered what the result would be if God were not infinite Mind? It would mean that there would be no consciousness of anything, and therefore no existence. To awaken to the fact, and to begin to worship God as divine Mind, brings untold blessings, heals the sick, and reforms the sinner.
