It is in great gratitude to God for Christian Science that I write this testimony. For the past seventeen years I have relied on Christian Science alone for healing, protection, and guidance. I have been through deep waters, where only the power of God could have availed, and I have proved Him to be an ever present help in time of trouble.

I turned to Christian Science not only because I was in great need of physical healing, but because I was groping for a religion that would satisfy—seeking a God whom I could understand and love. At first I found it very hard to understand the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and for the first fortnight of my study I was very miserable. I persevered, however, knowing that I was earnestly seeking God, and that if there was a God at all, He would help me. Suddenly, one evening, when I was feeling most wretched, a wonderful sense of peace came over me and I had a glimpse of what Christian Science meant. I knew that I had found the truth; and from that day I have never wavered in my loyalty to Christian Science and in my desire to gain more understanding.

I have been healed of a constant tendency to colds, practically chronic, of chronic throat trouble, of rheumatism, and of severe headaches; and I have also been restored from serious illness to health and work. I had often heard it said that I had "no constitution"—"nothing to fall back on;" but I have learned in Christian Science what constitutes real health, and I know that there is ever the infinite intelligence and strength of the divine Mind to rely upon.
