I have known Christian Science for fourteen years and am so grateful for it that I do not wish to neglect to express my thanks publicly for the many blessings I have received from it. My family and I have received not only instruction in Christian Science, but also help in mild and serious cases. Before the war we lived in Russia. When the war broke out, our freedom in a hostile country was threatened; but God's help opened the gates and led us through the polar night to our native country.

Some years ago I lost my voice and had to give up my lectures at the university. Thanks to the help of a dear practitioner, the symptoms of weakness disappeared, and my voice returned stronger than ever. I should like to emphasize the fact that the Lesson-Sermons always give me new strength, and that I have built up my profession on the basis of Christian Science.

Formerly I was greatly dependent upon the tobacco habit. By reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, it became clear to me that this unnecessary habit must leave me. Then one day I was able to stop smoking without using any will power, and without missing anything. Last year I was taken ill with a painful complaint which physicians usually treat by operating. Thanks to the help of a Christian Science practitioner in Dresden the illness left me within a few days.
