With a joyful heart, and filled with gratitude, I wish to testify to the good which I have received through Christian Science. In the fall of 1919, I was suffering from an eye disease. I was under the treatment of specialists, but there was no improvement. At last I went to the eye infirmary of a famous professor, where I remained for four months without any healing being effected. Then they told me my eyes should be operated on; but my husband would not have this done, and took me away.

Soon afterwards a gentleman came into my place of business and talked about Christian Science. I was taken to a testimony meeting, and went to a practitioner for treatment the next day. The following day I could go out on the street without guidance; and about a week later I could sell in the store. The eyes were still covered with a film, but this came off after the treatment. Still I could not read; but after I had been treated a few weeks longer, I could distinguish the letters in Der Herold der Christian Science. When I told the practitioner this during a treatment, she put the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, into my hands. When she looked at me again she saw that I went on reading, and turned one page after another. From that time I have been able to read; and my eyes have remained well.

Words cannot express my gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy, as well as to the practitioner who helped me.
