The Lectures

Dresden, Germany (First Church).

Lecturer: Miss Lucia C. Coulson; introduced by Carl Wilhelm Seitz, who said:—

Nearly two thousand years ago Jesus of Nazareth proclaimed his new teaching with the following words: "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." He meant that the kingdom of all-inclusive harmony is not afar off, but here with us, and can be realized through right thinking. The coming of the Christ, Truth, was proclaimed by the song of the angels, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Christian Science gives the glory to God,—to infinite, supreme, divine Spirit,—and thereby brings peace to the individual. And what could be greater "good will" for mankind than that which every wise man seeks and which Christian Science brings—namely, inner happiness, true joy, harmonious life, health, and, above all, freedom from the bondage of fear, superstition, ignorance, lack, and limitation.
