When Christian Science found me I was in a deplorable condition, a wreck both mentally and physically. After a serious abdominal operation I was left as helpless as an infant, with what the physicians termed "nerve paralysis." They told me that atrophy had set in, and that I had a burden to carry the rest of my life, as they could not bring back "dead" nerves.
It was at this dark hour that a dear friend prevailed upon me to see a Christian Science practitioner; and from that hour the Word of Truth began its cleansing and healing work. It seemed to me then that the actual physical healing was slow; but I can look back now and see that my whole being was undergoing a wonderful rejuvenation; and I am grateful for the time I was forced to spend in reading and studying and learning to say, "Not my will but thine, be done." A discordant condition of the thyroid gland was also soon destroyed by the power of Truth.
Recently I was thrown down in a street car and my knee fractured. Under protest I was rushed to a hospital; but during the trying hours before I was removed to my home the consciousness of Truth did not leave me for a moment, and all man-made laws, such as stiff knee, lameness on account of age, and so on, were overcome. I at no time used a crutch, but instead leaned on the everlasting arms of our Father-Mother God.
