In a recent issue of your paper there is a misleading statement that should be corrected, else Christian Science will be confused with another system which is entirely foreign to Christian Science. The statement to which reference is made reads, "Christian Science largely depends upon control of our thoughts, and the Coue system rests upon the same basis." Instead of depending "largely," Christian Science depends altogether on our control of our thoughts, in accord with the Master's admonition: "What I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." In other words, we need to watch our thoughts; and by so doing we admit only good ones. Speaking in this connection, Mrs. Eddy says on page 234 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the textbook of Christian Science: "Sin and disease must be thought before they can be manifested. You must control evil thoughts in the first instance, or they will control you in the second."

In the light of these statements it is manifest we should be careful regarding the company (thoughts) we entertain. Christian Science is a religion. Several years ago Dr. Coue in an interview said that his system is not a religion. Therefore, it is plain that Christian Science and the Coue method are dissimilar. The former depends upon divine Mind, and has a spiritual foundation; the latter depends upon the human mind, and has a material basis. Comparatively speaking, there is as much difference between the two methods as there is between daylight and darkness.
