What the world at this moment needs is more love from all...
Herald
What the world at this moment needs is more love from all Christians for each other, no matter how divergent their doctrines or their forms of worship. The way to peace and unity is through that brotherly love taught and practiced by Jesus the Christ, whose herald angels sang, "On earth peace, good will toward men," and whose Father is the God who is Himself Love, as John says specifically. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and the author of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," is revered by hundreds of thousands of good men and women, who love her because of the great good she has brought into their lives. She was a spiritually-minded, loving gentlewoman whose prayerful study of the Holy Scriptures revealed the fact that God is ever with His children, ready to forgive all their iniquities and to heal all their diseases, as the Bible promises. The Christian people calling themselves Christian Scientists cheerfully admit the rights of all men to worship God in the way that seems right to each. However, it will be plain to all just persons that they have cause to protest against public misrepresentation of the Leader of their church,—a Leader rightly beloved and revered by them. Mrs. Eddy recognized this need for mutual consideration among Christians in a rule on page 48 of the Church Manual, which reads: "A member of this Church shall not publish, nor cause to be published, an article that is uncharitable or impertinent towards religion, medicine, the courts, or the laws of our land." And on page 4 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," she says, "A genuine Christian Scientist loves Protestant and Catholic, D.D. and M.D.,—loves all who love God."
