The teachings of Christian Science are purely spiritual

The teachings of Christian Science are purely spiritual. They are not based upon any material premise, nor on any of the unstable theories which assign entity or power to evil or matter. Christian Science is founded upon the Scriptures. It is strictly in conformity with the teachings of Christ Jesus; and the students of Christian Science are doing the works which he commanded his followers to do. Furthermore, in conformity with the statement of the Master, Christian Scientists are proving their faith by those signs which Jesus said would "follow them that believe.

Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 342): "Christian Science awakens the sinner, reclaims the infidel, and raises from the couch of pain the helples invalid. It speaks to the dumb the words of Truth, and they answer with rejoicing. It causes the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, and the blind to see. Who would be the first to disown the Christliness of good works, when our Master says, 'By their fruits ye shall know them'?"
