Signs of the Times

[Dr. Frank M. Silsley, in the Tribune, Oakland, Calif., Dec. 3, 1923]

What we need is such a faith in Christ that we may be delivered from the present evil world, and live the life of immortals who are free in Christ. ... If the world is to be saved, it must quit concentrating on personalities and concentrate on Christ, who is "the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." ... All that Christ ever did was just to give; and when men have this benevolent spirit they have the spirit of Christ. The greatest men to-day are givers, not hoarders, distributors, not monopolists.

[George Lansbury, in the Daily Herald, London, England, Jan. 5, 1924]
