It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony...
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. Not long ago I was taken ill with light chills followed by a condition of throat trouble. The chills and fever were readily overcome through my understanding and application of the truth, as learned in Christian Science. But the condition of the throat seemed so real that my thought became confused. At this time I turned to a Christian Science practitioner, saying that the present work was hers; for at that time I was unable to do any work for myself. The condition during the two nights that followed seemed most distressing, as it was almost impossible for me to lie down on account of choking; but on the third day, the morning seemed the brightest and happiest of all days; and about nine o'clock I realized I was healed. All signs of the disease had completely disappeared. Another healing, of the sense of lack, has been brought about very recently through the loving, unselfish work of the same practitioner. These recent healings have made clearer than ever before the effective work of Christian Science practitioners. Never before had I so fully realized the wonderful service they are rendering to mankind.
I should also like to say that I began the study of Christian Science in 1910, when I was healed of consumption of the bowels. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who so lovingly labored to give to the world this wonderful truth—Christian Science.—Deries R. Gaulden, New York, N. Y.
