I should like to relate the following experience, which I had during the past year. I had been troubled with a sore throat for some time, and on a particular morning when I awakened, it seemed very much worse. I took up the Christian Science Quarterly and started to read the lesson for the week. The first reference was about the woman who had an issue of blood, who was healed by touching the hem of Jesus' garment in the press. I spent some time meditating on this, and thought that even if I could not touch the hem of the personal Jesus' garment, yet the healing truth was just as near to me as it was to that woman, and I was just as much God's child as she was. While I sat there thinking of these things I felt better; and by the time I had finished the lesson my throat was completely healed, and I have had no return of the trouble.

As I had struggled for years to get freedom from this malady, I feel deeply grateful for what Christian Science did for me then, and is doing for me every day. I am thankful to Mrs. Eddy for giving us the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which does indeed make the Bible a practical book, so that we can understand and apply its teachings.
