We have had so many wonderful proofs of God's love...

We have had so many wonderful proofs of God's love and care, especially during the past year, that I should like to tell of a recent demonstration, which has seemed most wonderful.

Our daughter, eleven years of age, seemed not at all well for some time. Although the first decided symptoms had been overcome through the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, she did not seem to regain strength or energy; in fact, she seemed fairly to drag herself about. A guest, who had been a very efficient trained nurse, seemed very much worried; and finally, after asking if it would not be best to see a physician in a case like that, said she believed it to be a case of mastoiditis. After working mentally on the case for a number of weeks without satisfactory results, we had a specialist diagnose the case; and he wanted to operate at once. We refused consent to an operation or any medical treatment.

Not realizing what I was doing, I anxiously watched the ear. One morning the practitioner told me to sit down and deny everything that had been said about the case, and to realize that this case was in God's hands and that no mortal could outline how it was to be healed. In that instant I realized that the case would have been healed long before except for my anxiety. From that time on I refused to look at the ear. Every time I was tempted, I declared that God was taking care of the case; that He was the only power and intelligence; and that He knew the right way. In a few days the trouble disappeared entirely. The child has for some months been entirely well, and has grown wonderfully. The nurse says this healing would be considered nothing short of a miracle from a medical standpoint.
