one has reached the limit of human ability, and no hope from material means and methods is left, "man's extremity" is seen to be "God's opportunity.

Christian Science is not negative.
It is true that Christian Scientists have not succeeded in the final abolition of the last enemy, and they do not claim to have done so; but there are hundreds of thousands who regard Christian Science practice as Christian and scientific; and to-day courts justify its use to those who desire it.
By accepting the great fact of God's allness, all that is unlike Him can be proved to be nonexistent; and many today are healing the sick and sinning on this basis.
Christian Science teaches that Christ, Truth, is of God and has been always present; that Christ Jesus taught and demonstrated this Truth more than any other person; that the healing power of Truth was lost to the world from about the third century until 1866, when Mary Baker Eddy, a spiritually-minded New England woman, rediscovered it, and gave the fruits of her labors to a skeptical world, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and her other writings, including the periodicals she founded.
Suggestion or hypnotism is based on the belief in many ruling minds, or in the power of one human mind over another; whereas Christian Science teaches the impotence of this mortal so-called mind, and concedes all power and control to the one infinite divine Mind, called God.
Christian Science and Christianity are one, and are based entirely upon the teachings of Jesus that God is the only cause and creator and that there is no other power governing man and the universe.
Christian Science is the Science of God.
The prayer "Thy will be done" implies the perfect action of a perfect God; and the best ministry is that which teaches the individual rightly to realize the omnipotence and omnipresence of God, and to prove that He is a God "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.
