Christian Science has meant so much to me during the last few years that I feel I must try to express my gratitude for it. My parents have been students of Christian Science as long as I can remember; so I was brought up to turn to it in every need. As soon as I was old enough to think things out seriously for myself, I realized the necessity of studying the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works if I were to gain the freedom which was my birthright as a child of God. At that time I was a slave to fear and depression, which often ended in hysteria, as well as being painfully self-conscious. However, through the earnest study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, I can truly say I have found a new life, a life of joy and freedom instead of fear and bondage. While quite a child I was healed of deafness in the left ear, which at times had made things rather difficult for me at school; and a few years ago I was healed of a badly poisoned knee, through the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner. As I seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, my every need is met; and instead of fearing every change, I go forward rejoicing, knowing that only good can come to me.

I am deeply grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, as well as for the wonderful privilege of class instruction, which has taught me the joyous necessity of constant watchfulness, and always to listen for the voice of God. My heart goes out in love and gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who through her patient, selfless toil has freed so many from sin, sorrow, and death.
