The word "science" has been used so largely in connection with material systems of activity that the general thought does not associate it with religion, and, in fact, often considers that science and religion are opposed; whereas "science" really means "ascertained truth; exact knowledge; knowledge systematized." Surely all Christians will agree that Christianity is the ascertained truth about God, or exact knowledge of God, as taught by Jesus the Christ. He proved his understanding to be correct by his works of healing and reformation, and he demanded of his followers similar proofs of their Christian faith or spiritual understanding. Healing in Christian Science is attained only through an absolute faith in and understanding of God.
