I became interested in the teachings of Christian Science...
I became interested in the teachings of Christian Science about thirteen years ago. It was so different from the way I had been taught, so practical, good, and true, that I had given up the old way of thinking about God as way off up in the skies in a heaven, and a burning hell down somewhere, to be reached after death, according to how good or bad we are.
I am truly grateful for a healing I had not long ago of a very severe pain in my side, which a doctor would have called pleurisy. The symptoms of it were there. I could not get a long breath without very great pain. A practitioner was called over the telephone, and before the day was over the pain was all gone. I was not able to get up that morning for breakfast; the next day I went to the dressmaker's.
For this healing and many other blessings, for the spiritual uplift, a desire to reflect love to all mankind, to do unto others as I wish to be done by, and to be honest, just, and true, I am ever thankful to God and to Mrs. Eddy.
