Alamosa, Colo. (First Church). — First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Alamosa, which has just been completed at a cost of twelve thousand dollars, is located at the corner of Fourth Street and Ross Avenue. Early in the fall of 1921 the Christian Scientists purchased lots and laid the foundation for the building that same fall. In the following March work was begun on the main structure, and went forward rapidly. At sunrise, May 12, 1922, the corner stone was laid. Following the repetition of the Lord's Prayer there were readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Inside the corner stone were placed a Bible and a copy of the textbook. In building this church, the Christian Scientists of Alamosa have proved the words of Mrs. Eddy, as found on page 494 of Science and Health, where she says, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." — Alamosa Journal.
