I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science...
I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. Love's blessings are too numberous to tell of them all; but I should like to mention one in particular, with the desire that it may help some one.
Some time ago a fishbone lodged in my throat, and we could not remove it or see it. Swelling and irritation increased, and I could not raise my head without choking. Then aid was asked of a Christian Science practitioner; and in a very short time the distressing condition was overcome. In less than twenty-four hours the bone came out without any effort or inconvenience. It was about an inch and a half long, and showed that it had been imbedded in the flesh about one fourth of an inch. I was healed of a felon on my finger through my own understanding of Christian Science.
Many times have I proved the power of divine Love's protection. On one occasion after lighting two burners of a gasoline stove, I left the room to attend to other duties. In a short time I had a strong impression that something was wrong with the stove. I at once declared the truth that there could be no accident, for we have the promise, "Because thou hast made the Lord ... thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." On entering the kitchen I found the room full of smoke. The blaze of one burner had gone out, but the gasoline was running and had caught fire from the other burner. The fire was extinguished almost immediately, and no harm was done to anything. I experienced a peaceful calmness without fright or excitement.
