Christian Science depends entirely on God, the divine Mind, as the only instrumentality and potency in healing. The basic Principle of Christian Science is God. The consciousness of His presence and of His power, which Christian Science reveals, means to those who are gaining it, and proportionably as they are gaining it, the consciousness of health, holiness, and immortality. These qualities of God can only be gained as men lose all faith in human, speculative beliefs, and place their sole dependence on God.

Christian Science is a religion. It is the religion of the New Testament. Jesus taught and practiced every rule and precept Christian Science presents to the world. Christian Science is teaching us how to follow his example; and, as a result, God is becoming the great Physician to multitudes of his followers throughout the world. On page 260 of "Miscellaneous Writings" Mrs. Eddy has stated: "Truth is supreme and omnipotent. Then, whatever else seemeth to be intelligence or power is false, deluding reason and denying revelation, and seeking to dethrone Deity. The truth of Mind-healing uplifts mankind, by acknowledging pure Mind as absolute and entire, and that evil is naught, although it seems to be."
