I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science...

I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science—for all the good, the freedom, and the happiness which the knowledge of this truth is bringing into my life. I have proved the power of Christian Science to heal and to overcome many inharmonious conditions.

About six years ago, with the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was healed of blood poisoning in a few weeks. Although the trouble in my right foot seemed severe, I was able to get about almost the whole time and attend to my ordinary work; and I missed only one Sunday service.

Another healing which has been a great help to me occurred at the time of an influenza epidemic. I became ill with this trouble one Saturday at midday, and grew steadily worse. All the time I was clinging to the truth and studying, as much as possible, our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Early on Monday morning I commenced to study our Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly. When I was halfway through the lesson, the following words from Science and Health (p. 308), "Until the lesson is learned that God is the only Mind governing man, mortal belief will be afraid as it was in the beginning," brought a great sense of relief and spiritual uplift. I saw that God is indeed the only Mind, and that man, "the full representation of Mind" (Science and Health, p. 591), can be neither sick nor afraid. A great longing filled my heart that those who were in such sore need of it might know this great truth. I knew I was healed; and so it proved. On the following Wednesday I was able to testify to the healing power of divine Mind at our evening meeting.
