The Lectures

Chicago, Ill. (Thirteenth Church).—Introducing Judge Frederick C. Hill, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, Frederick B. Andrews spoke as follows:—

To-day, the word "real" is not used so lightly as formerly, in referring to things material and temporal; and so eminent a physical scientist as Dr. Charles P. Steinmetz recently made the statement that his science "does not deal with the real world, of which we know nothing, but with the world as it appears to our senses." Christian Science is the Science of that which is real, as distinct from that which to apparent to the physical senses; it is the Science of Spirit and of Life. It denies that we know nothing of the real, and asserts that God, the great reality, is constantly manifesting Himself to and through man.
