Will the Advertiser, so fair on all questions, allow me a little space to give a view of Christian Science different from that contained in the report of a sermon by a well-known evangelist which recently appeared in its columns?
Christian Science has healed thousands of men of the curse of strong drink and other evil habits; it has caused many agnostics to believe there is a living God; it has healed every form of disease; it has restored harmony to countless homes; it has made the Bible actually the Book of Life to thousands who had never read it before. All over the world it is teaching humanity to turn to God as their only helper in every problem of life. Surely all this is good; and there is but one source of good—our God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On a certain occasion "John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part."
