Letters from the Field

"Words cannot express my gratitude for all the many blessings that I received while staying at the Sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association. To mortal sense I was suffering from an attack of brain abscess and complications. I had been in a hospital for thirty-two weeks and was finally given up as incurable, when a friend of mine spoke to me about Christian Science. Through the many channels of love that were provided, I was able to come to this beautiful home; and it was an experience I shall never forget. About an hour after being admitted to the Sanatorium I walked across the room for the first time in thirty-two weeks. I also ate my dinner and was able to retain it, something I had not done for the same length of time. Every one of the nurses, guests, and associates was so loving, happy, and helpful, that to me it seemed at first as if I were in a dream.

"I am indeed very grateful for the privilege of staying in the Sanatorium, and for all the benefits received. I am so grateful to God, and also to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing me the way of Truth, Life, and Love. Again, thanking you and all the associates for your loving-kindness,
"I am,
(Signed) "Edith E. Dunnell, Newtonville, Mass."

"For the great blessings that have been bestowed on my dear wife, made possible by your kindly interest [at the Christian Science Sanatorium], I wish you to accept my heartfelt gratitude. Words cannot express the thankfulness which I feel towards those who, as God's instruments, brought to my wife a new lease of life. She, like the woman of old, had suffered much of materia medica, being diseased since childhood. When, finally, they had to turn her away as beyond human aid, God heard our prayer and provided those channels whereby the truth came into her heart; and she received her birthright, which is health and strength. For the wonderful healing I am grateful, but more especially for the knowledge of divine Science, of Life, Truth, and Love, which has saved her from sin, disease, and death.
