Christian Science has been "a very present help in trouble" in our family of five during the past fifteen years. Our three children were born and have been brought up in Science.We have had many healings from attacks of children's disease, influenza, poison ivy, and others too numerous to mention here. At one time one of the children was so ill that relatives and friends believed there could be no hope of the child's living; but the practitioner who was helping assured me that divine intelligence could not be extinguished by mortal beliefs. That thought gave me courage to press on; and by persistently turning from sense evidence to the unseen but "perfect model," of which Mrs. Eddy speaks on page 407 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," a beautiful healing resulted through Christian Science. I was healed through Christian Science of a so-called incurable condition of the eyes, after long and useless treatment by an oculist, and removed glasses which I had worn for eighteen years.

We are indeed grateful for the teachings of Mrs. Eddy, for she has shown us how to prove that God is "a God at hand, ... and not a God afar off."
