Christian Science came to me at the darkest time of my life. I had never known what it was to be well and strong; and at this time was suffering from a severe throat trouble, for which the physicians could find no relief. After weeks of treatment, they said that they could do nothing more for me. I had reached the place where I could not see anything for which to live; the only work left me was singing, and the singing voice seemed to be lost. I knew nothing of Christian Science, but finally decided to try it; and one Friday morning I went to a Christian Science practitioner. The few quiet words gave me courage and confidence in God. Treatment was taken up, with the result that I sang in church thefollowing Sunday with perfect freedom, the first time in eight months. That week the complete healing followed. Vocal lessons were begun again, also the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; and I began to realize a little of the meaning of Christ Jesus' words, "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness."

In the ten years since, there have been many problems; but Christian Science has never failed to help, heal, and bless. Two and a half years ago I had an attack of acute appendicitis; and for two or three days conditions were such that it seemed as if I could not live; but through a practitioner's help there came a realization of the truth that God is my life, and that whatever came, nothing could separate me from Him. This made the entire experience one of spiritual uplift, which has never left me. Though friends and relatives wished for a surgical operation, there was never a doubt on my part but that the healing would come through God alone. I was perfectly healed, and have had no trouble since.

There are no words which can fully express my gratitude for all the good that comes to us through the many channels of Truth, which Mary Baker Eddy in her wonderful, God-given wisdom, knew would meet the world's need.
