"Put off thy shoes"

Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," has said on page 234, "Whatever inspires with wisdom, Truth, or Love—be it song, sermon, or Science—blesses the human family with crumbs of comfort from Christ's table, feeding the hungry and giving living waters to the thirsty." A hymn sung at a recent Wednesday evening testimony meeting so filled the heart of one Christian Scientist with gratitude for this living, practical truth, that he has been inspired to tell, in part, of an experience which has taught him a much needed lesson in humility, and helped him a long way towards solving what seemed to him a very difficult problem. A verse of the hymn in question reads:—

Ye servants of the Lord!
Each in his office wait,
Observant of His heav'nly word,
And watchful at His gate.
