Christian Science came to me in an hour of need

Christian Science came to me in an hour of need. All medical help had proved of no avail. I had suffered for over twenty years from intestinal hemorrhage, and had had physicians many, with various treatments. There would be several weeks at a time when I could not sit up or lift my arms, because of weakness. I felt I was cursed of God; and was embittered and soured in my thoughts against the world in general.

In 1903 Christian Science came to me. I rejected it at first; for I thought it sacrilegious to claim Christian Science healing, and I did not want anything to do with religion. I was tired of it all. But "man's extremity" proved in my case to be God's opportunity; so I began treatment in Christian Science. I was full of ills: had severe attacks of heart trouble, piles in severe form, and many other ills of a serious nature, too numerous to mention. One day one these ailments left me, all but the hemorrhages, the trouble that firsts took me to Christian Science. I still clung to the treatments; and after two and one half years I was healed.

During these past nineteen years I have never found Christian Science treatment fail me when I have applied it as our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, teaches. I have found God to be a God of love. I am, under the teachings of Christian Science, learning to love more, and hate no one. As a business woman, I have found, and still find, Christian Science a wonderful help in solving business problems. I am most grateful that I have learned to understand the Bible, and to love its teachings better than before I began the study of Christian Science. I could write much more; for all I have, all I am, I owe to God through that dear, loving woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who in this age has presented to us,—to all who will accept it,—this torch of Truth that enlightens our pathway out of gloom into the glory of a redeemed life. I am grateful for the Church Manual, and for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and all of Mrs. Eddy's other writings, as well as for our literature.
