The Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

World-Herald

The Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are sacred to those who, through the diligent study of these works and obedience to the spiritual laws therein set forth, have become freed from sin and various forms of functional and organic disease.

In order to overcome disease, worry, and fear, to which a critic in a recent issue of your paper refers, Christian Science unfolds the truth about God, and the idea of man as His image and likeness, even as Christ Jesus proved him to be, and in the way he directed. Mrs. Eddy has written, on page 104 of "Miscellaneous Writings": "How shall we reach our true selves? Through Love. The Principle of Christian Science is Love, and its idea represents Love. This divine Principle and idea are demonstrated, in healing, to be God and the real man."

Christian Science occupies the unassailable position that health is as immortal and unchangeable as God, and therefore existed as spiritual reality, and not as a physical condition, before material healing methods were under consideration. It makes plain that health will continue to be man's God-given heritage, after all material methods are abandoned. Hence the search for health is included in a search for God, for infinite Life, rather than a dieting process. Christ Jesus said, "Without me ye can do nothing;" and the world is learning that this statement means exactly what it says.
