Christian Science is defined by its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony" (Rudimental Divine Science, p. 1). It may be safely said that every one is interested in some phase of universal harmony. An intelligent and honest study of the above definition will quickly reveal the fact that no one can successfully fight against the law that interprets and demonstrates "the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." It is equally apparent that no one could successfully fight against the interpreter and demonstrator of universal harmony; for, as Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 107), "This apodictical Principle points to the revelation of Immanuel, 'God with us,' — the sovereign ever-presence, delivering the children of men from every ill 'that flesh is heir to.'" Christian Science also teaches the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God, that God is Spirit, as the Bible teaches, that He is All-in-all, and that man is created in the image and likeness of God. The purpose of Christian Science is to reinstate the teaching and the works of Jesus the Christ. How well this is being done is attested by the large and ever increasing number of people who are turning to it for healing of every kind, mental, moral, and physical. It is for those who know that they need a physician. Jesus said, "By their fruits ye shall know them."
