I have been so much benefited by reading the testimonies...
I have been so much benefited by reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals that I feel I have delayed too long in sending the account of my healing in 1912. In January, 1911, I was taken with a form of rheumatism. Hard lumps formed on my joints and made walking or even moving my limbs very painful. I was treated by a Christian Science practitioner for three months, and then became discouraged and yielded to the advice of friends to consult a physician, who put me on a rigid diet and gave me most nauseating medicines. For four months I adhered strictly to his rules, but making no progress I again became discouraged. After a sleepless night I threw away all the tablets and powders I had on hand, and the next day went to a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment. She treated me until the end of the year, but the trouble remained. I however, realized that materia medica could not help me and had no desire to try it again. I was soon led to ask for help from another practitioner, with the result that all fear was destroyed almost at once and in a few weeks I could walk as briskly as ever. There has been no return of the ailment during the past six years.
I feel very grateful for the Christian Science services and literature and to all those who have helped me to understand more of this beautiful truth.
