In 1912 I began to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy to find out if it could do anything for a dear one who was suffering at that time. As I read the textbook I was convinced of the truth of its teaching, and in a few weeks realized that I was healed of chronic stomach and bowel trouble, from which I had suffered since childhood. A structural defect of the eyes, for which an optician said I must always wear glasses, disappeared as I learned to put my trust in our loving Father-Mother God and to know that He supplies our every need. I have had no occasion to wear glasses since that time, now more than five years ago, and for that period the truth, as taught in Science and Health, has been my only physician. My gratitude to our dear Leader is unbounded for her unselfish devotion and love in giving us this key to the Bible, which is a new book when read with one's thought illumined by Christian Science. This new light on the Scriptures in far more precious than the physical healing.
